Dr. C.S. Madhu was born in Kottayam on 8th Jan 1955 and grew up in Poonjar Thekkekkara, Kottayam Dist. He had primary schooling at Govt. LPS Kallekkulam and St. Antonys UPS & High School, Poonjar South where he studied upto 10th Standard. The Pre-Degree education was in St. George College, Aruvithura followed by Graduation (BSc) at St. Thomas College, Palai.

He did his MBBS course at Govt. Medical College, Trivandrum (1974 - 80) and thereafter was resident in Pediatrics at SAT Hospital Medical College Trivandrum till October 1981. He then underwent his Oncology residency in Madras Medical College during 1981-83 and acquired DMRT degree from Madras University. He thereafter joined as Tutor in Calicut Medical College in the Department of Radiation Therapy where he worked upto July 1984 and then did his MD Residency in Regional Cancer Centre of Govt. Medical College, Thiruvananthapuram where he worked upto Jan 1991.

He joined as Asst. Professor in Cancer Care Centre, Govt. Medical College, Kottayam where he worked from 1991 to 2001 and was promoted and posted at Govt. Medical College, Thrissur in 2001 as Associate Professor and later Professor and HOD of Dept. of Radiotherapy and Oncology in September 2006. In December 2006 he was posted back to Cancer Care Centre, Govt. Medical College, Kottayam as Professor and HOD. He took voluntary retirement on 8th August 2010.

Currently he is Senior Consultant and HOD Oncology at Lourdes Hospital, Cochin-12 and also is a visiting consultant at Prathyasa MJKM Cancer Research Centre, Cherthala, Alappuzha Dist.

Presently Dr. C.S. Madhu is the President of IMA Kottayam Branch.
